FTL or LTL: choosing for your cargo

A dedicated truck and groupage serve different needs. Compare occupied space, deadline and compatibility, not just weight.

FTL: when dedicated transport is needed

FTL may suit large volumes or cargo that needs to travel separately. Check capacity, loading access and delivery window. Even without filling the vehicle, there may be an operational reason to book it exclusively.

LTL: when capacity can be shared

For a few pallets, LTL or groupage may be worth considering. Provide dimensions and stackability. Compare the quote and available schedule: handling and consolidation may affect both cost and timing.

Temperature can change the choice

A frozen pallet needs a compatible temperature throughout the route. A standard groupage quote is insufficient. Include temperature in the first request to avoid comparing options that cannot carry the product.
